Tim Waters

Tim Waters

Tim Waters is a former member of Longmont’s City Council, representing Ward 1. He transitioned from his role as a City Council member to full-time volunteer in December 2023. Tim was a career educator, spending over 44 years in the field which he split between 23 years as a practitioner and 21 years running an education research and development corporation.


Tim’s volunteer activities include his membership in Longmont Rotary and as a member of the Rotary Club Board of Directors, membership on the I Have a Dream Board of Directors, membership on the Longmont Community Justice Board of Directors, member of Longs Peak and Broomfield Hospital Advisory Boards, Chair of Longmont Public Media’s Board of Directors, and Co-Chair of The Learning Center’s capital campaign. Tim is also deeply involved as a member of the Early Childhood Alliance which is dedicated to funding childcare and early childhood education as a public good.

Stacy Cornay

Stacy Cornay

Stacy Cornay, the owner and founder of Communication Concepts Public Relations &
Advertising, has an extensive background in public relations and marketing, as well as for- profit and non-profit organizations. Stacy earned a Master’s Degree in Communication from the University of Louisiana. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Wyoming. 

In 1994, she founded Communication Concepts Public Relations & Advertising in Longmont. The business focuses on developing and implementing effective, custom communication planning and strategies for organizations, businesses and individuals. Clients include many businesses and organizations throughout the Front Range.
For the past 20+ years, Stacy has authored a monthly column in the Longmont Daily Times-
Call and Boulder Daily Camera concerning communication issues.

Tom Briggs

Tom Briggs

Tom Briggs’ experience spans commercial and investment banking in both Denver and New York City; public financial management service in Federico Pena’s first term as Mayor of
Denver; international finance for the U.S. Treasury Department; and senior-level policy work in international development for the Millennium Challenge Corporation and the United States Agency for International Development. He also served as Executive Director of The HELP Commission, an independent commission created by Congress to report on America’s foreign aid programs to Congress, the President, and the American people. 

Since retiring in 2013 and returning to Boulder County, Tom served as President of two non-profit organizations, Treasurer of three, and as a Partner in Social Venture Partners of Boulder County. Tom is fifth-generation Coloradan and a U.S. Navy vet where he served as a Russian linguist in special operations.

Emily Vallery

Emily Vallery joins the Longmont Public Media Board, bringing a rich background in real estate law and property management, along with deep ties to Longmont since 2010. Her active participation in various community groups, including the MOMS Club of Longmont and the Longmont Rotary, showcases her dedication and enthusiasm for community service. Emily’s passion for genealogy fuels her commitment to preserving Longmont’s historical and familial stories, ensuring they remain a vibrant part of our local heritage. Her adaptability and keen judgment are reflected in her proactive involvement in numerous community initiatives and organizations. Emily’s unique blend of enthusiasm, community dedication, and professional expertise makes her an invaluable asset to the Longmont Public Media Board.

Scott Converse

Scott has been a senior corporate executive who has worked for fortune 50 companies like Apple Computer, Motorola, Paramount Pictures/Viacom, and MCI, and has founded several startup companies including pioneers like ClickCaster, Medioh, and ExtractCraft. Scott also co-founded The Longmont Observer and TinkerMill..

Jackie Juarez

Jackie and her family have been a part of the Longmont community for the last 30 years. Education, Community, Culture, and Access to Resources are at the core of Jackie’s work. She has had the pleasure of being an educator for the previous ten years in both the public and private school system in Colorado. Currently, she serves as the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusive Cultural Specialist for the University of Colorado- Leeds School of Business.

Sergio R. Angeles

Sergio’s background is in back-end and front-end application development for Fortune 500 companies. In 2017, he co-founded the Longmont Observer, a local nonprofit newspaper, to help provide local information to Longmont. The Longmont Observer morphed into Longmont Public Media in 2020. In his free time, Sergio enjoys cooking, hiking, cycling, playing video games, geeking out on the latest tech, and coding.
