Longmont Public Media (LPM) will hold its first annual Membership Drive designed to engage and educate local residents about their local media makerspace starting September 1, 2022 to September 15, 2022.
“The goal of this membership drive is to expand our reach and mission within our community and continue to be Longmont residents’ destination to create and watch local content,” said Sergio R. Angeles, co-founder and executive director of LPM. “We’re aiming to get 100 or more new memberships in two weeks.”
LPM is Longmont’s and Boulder County’s only media makerspace, a ~5,000 sq ft facility with content studios for producing content, live streams, gaming, editing machines, a podcast studio, an audio production studio, and video equipment. LPM also has an online radio station, LPMX, run by LPM members. LPMX broadcasts a variety of music including by local artists.
“We have an incredible and talented community of content creators, editors, videographers, photographers, and more here at Longmont Public Media. Everyone is willing to teach, help another out, and assist in content creation, whether it’s podcasts, videos, live streams, and more,” Angeles said.
LPM will be hosting a variety of events, workshops, and classes for the public to participate in and learn more about the media makerspace. Membership Events include:

September 7 – Free YouTube Best Practices class
September 8 – Fact or Fiction: Live Storytelling

September 12 – Free Livestreaming workshop
September 13 – Free studio workshop
September 14 – Free podcasting class
September 15 – Longmont’s Most Talented Live
Every event attended gets you an entry in LPM’s final big prize raffle on September 15. Additionally, joining LPM during the membership drive will net you some sweet LPM swag depending on the membership tier that you choose.
LPM memberships start at $25 per year and go up to $100/mo. Benefits include 24/7 access, free or discounted equipment rentals, discount classes, access to stock video and music, and studio reservations. Individuals or organizations that sign up for yearly memberships get 2 months free.
LPM is also launching a referral program to new and existing members. Starting September 1st, Longmont Public Media will offer referral rewards to people referring new members. If you refer a friend, you will receive 20% off your next month’s membership and your friend will receive 20% off their first month’s membership.
