Drone Pilot Certification

Interested in kicking your content production up a level (or several stories) by learning how to fly a drone?! Register for Longmont Public Media’s pilot certification class that includes supervised hands-on experience in preparation for operating our DJI Mini 2 drone on your own!

This class is geared toward those who want to learn the basics of flying the DJI Mini 2 and is a required course if you wish to rent our drones. We will go over linking the drone to your smartphone for viewing and recording of footage, how to operate the joystick, and how to take off and land safely, in addition to going over safety instructions for flying a drone on your own. This 1-on-1 session will be held by Longmont Public Media’s Executive Producer Megan Lowery.

This class will be conducted in-person in front of Longmont Public Media and is dependent on weather! The cost of this certification class is $50.
