Longmont Public Media Accessibility Statement

Our Commitment

Longmont Public Media is committed to providing equitable access to our programs, services, and information—both online and in our physical facility. We strive to make our digital platforms, public spaces, and technology resources usable by everyone, including people with disabilities.

Website and Digital Accessibility

Our website and online content are designed to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, which set the global standard for web accessibility. This means we work to ensure:

  • Pages are navigable by keyboard and screen reader users.

  • Text is readable with sufficient color contrast.

  • Images include meaningful alternative text.

  • Videos include captions or transcripts when available.

  • Forms and interactive elements are labeled and usable by assistive technology.

If you have trouble accessing any page or resource on our website, please contact us (see below), and we’ll provide the information in an accessible format.

Facility Accessibility

Our space at Longmont Public Media is designed to meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
This includes:

  • Wheelchair-accessible entrances, restrooms, and studio spaces.

  • Clear floor space and adjustable work areas for computers and equipment.

  • Assistance from staff or volunteers for visitors who need help using our facilities, computers, or recording equipment.
If you encounter a physical barrier or need an accommodation when visiting, please let us know so we can assist or make improvements.

Member Tools and Third-Party Platforms

Some of our services—such as class registration, equipment reservations, or event sign-ups—are hosted on third-party platforms. While we strive to select vendors who comply with WCAG 2.1 AA and other accessibility standards, these tools are not always under our direct control. If you experience difficulty using any of these systems, please contact us. We will gladly provide alternative ways to complete your request, such as by phone, email, or in person.

Assistive Technology in Our Facility

Members who use assistive technologies (such as screen readers, speech-to-text, or alternative input devices) are welcome to use them on our public computers. If a particular software program is not fully accessible, staff will provide a comparable means to complete the task or help identify an accessible alternative.

We welcome your feedback on accessibility at Longmont Public Media. If you encounter an accessibility barrier on our website, in our facility, or while using one of our systems, please contact:
